Rescue Me ID: 17-08-29-00629Tesla (female)
This is Tesla, she is my baby. I rescued her off the streets of Nashville 8 years ago. She has been my faithful loving and loyal companion for all these years. When it comes to me, I know for a fact she would never bite or harm me. I can cuddle, squeeze and stick my face all in her zone and all she wants to do is love on me. She has been spoiled and given lots of attention for all these years except for recently. She has been in many dog fights and can be dangerous to let roam free near any wild animals or neighborhood dogs. She has never bit anyone but has jumped at a couple people's faces with her teeth showing when they got too close to her face. She is very social when walking around but some people she just doesn't like. She gets very protective inside a car, and don't even try to walk in a fenced area if she doesn't know you and you aren't wanted. She doesn't just jump and attack but she will jump towards them and scare the crap out of you. Besides that she still has never viciously attacked or bitten anyone. She may nip at you to warn you to back away, but never has broken skin. She is just very protective. She has an accasional incontenece issue that rarely happens. Just make sure she gets out enough and doesn't drink too much water and she's fine. She also hates being alone and loves car rides. She has a bit of anxiety but hasn't torn anything up of mine since she was a puppy. She is always by my side and actually smiles happily while wagging her tail quickly every time I come home. Recent life changes have Accured which make it seemingly impossible for me to keep her. Which breaks my heart and makes this the hardest thing I have ever had to do. She cries and howls when I'm gone for long periods of time. So I can't imagine how hard it will be on her that I have to give her up for good. I'm still in shock that I have to do this. Scrolling through this site seeing other dogs being given up doesn't help. Again, she is my baby, has always been loyal to me and never gave me a doubt in her faith in me. Even through the hard times and when she had to be punished, never did she act out towards me. I'm crushed doing this, but I must. Message me for more info, I could write a book here. Ohh. And I'm not comfortable setting a price for her. Her love to me is one of a kind and priceless, I'm more concerned with who decides to adopt her... cause I'm not just giving her to ANYONE. If I wasn't soo bad off financially things would be different. But my family is about to be homeless and Tess isn't making it easier. I have been trying to make it work, to no avail. (Less)

Very sweet mixed breed dog that came to my mother's home in May and had a litter of puppies a few days later. She has been great with my children and my mother's elderly dog. My mom cannot keep caring for her and she needs to be placed soon.

Animal ID: RockoRocko (male)
We'd like you to meet Rocko, Tennessee's next hunky eligible bachelor! Rocko is about 2 years old and wieghts 56 lbs. This Bull Terrier mix could be the next big thing to hit Hollywood, or hey, maybe the next Target dog!! He's good with female dogs, as well as submissive males. Rocko is good with kids, and he absolutely loves all people. He's also good with cats and acts uninterested in them. Rocko wanted us to mention that he really needs a fenced yard or an active walker/runner for exercise because, as we all know, maintaining a 'Hollywood figure' isn't easy and he loves to keep active. Rocko is crate trained. Rocko still may chew a thing or two if not supervised, so he goes in his crate when his foster mom isn't around. We saw instantly how smart he is because he easily learned how to go in his crate on command, he knows sit and down, as well as other fundamental commands. While people are around, he will lay down and just relax. He just loves people and being around them. Rocko's adoption fee is $85.00. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines and microchipped. **PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org **An application and home visit are required prior to adoption. All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have. Our ability to perform out of state adoptions is limited and reviewed on a case by case basis. If you are not in TN, please ask us about the potential of adopting the specific animal you are interested in. Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption. Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE! Please visit www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org for foster and adoption applications or for additional information. ***Please Note*** The breeds noted are guesses on the part of the volunteers of RARE based on the physical characteristics of the particular animal. We are not breed experts and cannot afford to perform DNA tests; therefore, the noted breeds may not be exact. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bull Terrier in Tennessee
Bull Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. Bull Terriers are stocky, solid dogs that were once bred to be very fierce but today are much gentler. Bull Terriers are companionable, thrive on attention, and do not like to be left alone for hours or left out of activities. Bull Terriers are spunky and energetic but need to get plenty of brisk exercise or they may become lazy and put on weight. Bull Terriers like children but do not like to be teased. Bull Terriers can be good pets but it is important that they are thoroughly socialized and obedience trained. Bull Terriers sometimes are not good with other household pets and can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs.
