Hershey is a 2yr old bull dog/pit mix that we rescued from the Greenville Humane Society. He is a great dog-house broken, low maintenance, and loving but requires a home with older children that are mature enough to respond to his cues for space.(Mine are 9, 7 and 5) He would also be a great choice for someone single as he is a great companion and would provide a sense of protection. PLEASE share. Hershey deserves a loving forever home .Many thanks!

Rescue Me ID: 15-10-05-00628Beatrix (female)

Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Beatrix! Breed: Bull terrier/pit bull mix Gender: F Adoption Fee: $125 Date into Rescue: 8/30/15 Reason for being in rescue: Originally found as a stray, taken to kill shleter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? No Weight: Est 45' Height: Est 20' What is my personality like? Beatrix came into our rescue and quickly started to decline. The kennel environment was just not enough for her to thrive. That is when one of our awesome volunteers and dog trainers, took her in as a foster. Beatrix has been going through training and learning all types of great things for almost two months now. She ... (Read More)is a highly intelligent dog who is turning into a wonderfully well rounded, well mannered girl. She has been an absolute love bug since day one. She is very affectionate and very happy - the large smile and wagging tail never stops. Below is the evaluation of Beatrix from her foster/trainer mom: Beatrix means 'Bringer of Joy'. I couldn't think of a better name for this girl. She loves to run, play, learn new tricks, explore, and loves, loves spending time cuddling and meeting new people. She is currently in training learning how to walk nicely on a leash, relax on a mat, greet people politely, and other exercises for impulse control. Beatrix is proving to be an A+ student. We're not sure of Beatrix's history, she was picked up as a stray, but it would appear that no one ever let her inside the house. She was a little unsure about normal household items (fridge, ceiling fan), but she is very brave and quickly got over it and was super excited to discover sofas! She can also be a little wary when she initially meets someone new, but once she realizes they're 'people', she loves them right away. Beatrix loves to chase, so might be too much with young children and small pets. Beatrix is doing great on leash around dogs, and working on making new doggie friends. Foothills Canine Academy is offering her adopter free behavior assistance so you can continue to advance her awesome-ness. Age: est 2 years old Please understand that these are rescued dogs, and sometimes their ages are only a guess. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture, and not to discriminate against older dogs. You never know which dog will steal your heart when you meet them! How I act when I first meet new people: Very friendly Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
