Rescue Me ID: 15-03-02-00224Lily (female)
Sweet Lily was adopted a few years ago with another little New Yorker and eventually the 2 were adopted together and enjoyed a happy home with their mom. Unfortunately, Lily's mom had a recent life change and had to sell her family home and relocate to an apartment. She did find a pet friendly apartment for Lily and her brother, but Lily found the new house smells, the elevator, all the new people and all the chaos of living amongst so many dogs of differing temperaments so overwhelming that she became terribly stressed out. For Lily's safety, her mom was forced to return her to us. Lily is approximately 38 lbs and is built very solid and low to the ground. She is initially shy and can get nervous in new situations, but she is essentially a sweet and happy girl who likes bigger dogs (as long as they are polite and easy going). On the other hand, she finds smaller, yappy or fresh dogs to be very intimidating. So no home with them for her! Lil is a cuddlier with her humans and a cuddled with her fur siblings. She was respectful of her mom's small grandchildren and was watchful of them. She is a little more reticent with men, but seems fine with the gentlemen at the boarding facility where she is temporarily located. She is spayed and up to date on her shots and is microchipped. We would love to find her a new home or at least a great foster home so she can feel like she's part of a family again until the right home comes along. This is a great dog who will give you great satisfaction and happiness to have her in your life. Don't let her get away from you! If you are interested in adopting her, please complete our online application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-11-00228HESTON (male)
HESTON was found with 3 other pups (approx 3 months old) just up the road from the rescue in Devine. We took them in, got them settled and over time fully vetted. HESTON is active and affectionate, although he can be wary of people until he has decided that they are OK. He is great with the other dogs, growing up amongst a lot of dog has given him fantastic dog socialization skills. We do not have cats in the rescue so we cannot say how he is with cats. He loves to have his ears and belly scratched. HESTON is looking for a family that is active and will take him to different places and let him explore the big wide world. As with all dogs he will benefit from basic and advanced training with the family which not only sets guidelines and boundaries but lets both dog and human learn each others body language and mannerisms. HESTON has been neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and micro-chipped, he has been on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, and tested NEGATIVE for heart-worm disease and the 3 tick-borne diseases in October 2014. HESTON has an estimated date of birth of 18th December 2013. HESTON is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $170. Although LOCATED in TEXAS we are using Rescue Road Trips LLC. and P.E.T.S. LLC, both highly reputable animal rescue transport companies to re-locate our dogs from rescue to meet their families along the East Coast (This allows us to save more dogs from the high rate kill shelters here in Texas). These are private companies and their transport fee's (which is paid directly to them) are $175 and $185 per dog. This fee is in addition to what you would pay the rescue for the adoption fee. Our application process and form can be found on our website under the APPLICATION tab. www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-24-00249Johnny B. (male)
About Johnny B.~foster needed!! Johnny B. had us truly heartbroken...He was pulled as a young 1 year old pup from a high volume NYC shelter where he had been held for months as 'evidence' in a court case of neglect and abuse. PYP pulled him and placed him in foster care. He was soon adopted to a loving family, the first real family he had ever known. This was 2 years ago and Johnny was just recently returned to the rescue. His family has a very sick child and they couldn't give a young active dog the time and devotion he needed. Johnny was devastated when his family brought him back. The first few days back he was sad, confused and stressed in the boarding facility. Thanks to the extremely loving and dedicated staff at All American Pet Resort his sadness didn't last long. Johnny is a GREAT dog. He adores other dogs and is a great player. Johnny is happy, loved, playful and a good boy on leash. He is 3 years old and a cute little low rider. You can't help but love this beautiful little guy. For more info on Johnny B. please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Tammy at 908-433-1796 (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bull Terrier in New Jersey
Bull Terrier Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. Bull Terriers are stocky, solid dogs that were once bred to be very fierce but today are much gentler. Bull Terriers are companionable, thrive on attention, and do not like to be left alone for hours or left out of activities. Bull Terriers are spunky and energetic but need to get plenty of brisk exercise or they may become lazy and put on weight. Bull Terriers like children but do not like to be teased. Bull Terriers can be good pets but it is important that they are thoroughly socialized and obedience trained. Bull Terriers sometimes are not good with other household pets and can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs.
