|Rescue Me ID: 15-04-05-00158Beautiful Briggs (female)|
Beautiful Briggs is very healthy, well behaved, perfectly house trained, up to date on her shots, spayed and ready to steal your heart. Briggs is very affectionate, friendly and intelligent. She is a bit nervous around kids under 5, so her perfect home will be with a family with older children, a couple or single with lots of time to spend with her. This sweet dog is being rehomed by her owners, who are heartbroken to have to make this very difficult decision. Unfortunately being the parents to two small children with special medical needs has left them little time to take care of Briggs. They feel that it would be better for Briggs to be adored by someone who can give her the time, attention, affection and exercise she needs and deserves. Briggs will be rehomed with all of her doggie belongings. Please offer this deserving dog a forever home today, and help bring a happy ending to this unfortunate situation. To offer Briggs a home, please fill out our adoption application form here: http://petprosservices.com/adopt/. There is a $75 rehoming/adoption fee. Supplies will be included. If you have any questions about Briggs, please email us with your phone number, and we will be happy to give you a call. Breed of Pet Mix - Bull Terrier and Boxer Age of Pet 5 years Size/Weight (if Dog) 75 lbs. Pet's Color and Coat Type Black and White Does this pet get along with cats? Yes Does this pet get along with dogs? Yes Does Your Pet Have Any Health Problems? Yes If yes, please provide details: ACL replacement in both hind legs Please Describe Your Pet's Personality Briggs is super friendly and loves people. She is slightly skittish around children under the age of 5 years old; they move too quickly for her. She is very playful and loves to sit outdoors. She is a very relaxed dog. What is your home environment like? Currently, overcrowded. In the past four years my wife and I have married, had two children, and managed two dogs as well. Space has become an issue; and we feel rehoming is the best solution for Briggs. Please Tell Us A Little About Your Family: Again, within the past four years my wife and I have gotten married and each brought a pet from our singles days to our joint home. We have since had two children in two years that have required extensive hospital stays and have special needs that require extra attention. What are your pet's favorite toys, foods, activities? She loves to play catch; with balls and ropes. She will let you know when she is tired and just lay in either the sun or the snow. She loves to take walks through the neighborhood getting a chance to socialize with new people and animals. Her favorite treats are anything bacon flavored! If possible, please tell us a funny, cute or heartwarming story about your pet. My mother was watching her as I was traveling during the winter. She took Briggs for a walk and slipped on the ice. No serious injuries to my mother and Briggs sat patiently by her side to ensure she was okay and as she collected herself and got back on her feet. For What Reason(s) are you needing to rehome your pet? Within the past two years our family has expanded with two children whom were born prematurely. Both have chronic lung disease as a result as well as other special medical situations that require extra attention. Briggs needs to be in a home were time and space are available for her to have the lifestyle she was accustom to prior to tight quarters and small children with special needs. Please describe what you are looking for in an adoptive family/home for your pet: An ideal home is a family or individual that is looking for a dog who loves to walk and enjoys the dog park. A semi-active home with just the right amount of freedom and stimulation to keep her active and fit. Briggs has lived in both the urban and rural homes and adjusts extremely well to either; as long as she is walked about a mile each day to socialize and exercise she is very content. What supplies and accessories will come with your pet? Dog crate, food bowl, water bowl, toys; balls and ropes, dog bed. (Less)

Bull Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Bull Terriers are stocky, solid dogs that were once bred to be very fierce but today are much gentler. Bull Terriers are companionable, thrive on attention, and do not like to be left alone for hours or left out of activities. Bull Terriers are spunky and energetic but need to get plenty of brisk exercise or they may become lazy and put on weight. Bull Terriers like children but do not like to be teased. Bull Terriers can be good pets but it is important that they are thoroughly socialized and obedience trained. Bull Terriers sometimes are not good with other household pets and can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs.
