Rescue Me ID: 18-05-12-00186Layla (female)

Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Layla is about 6.5 months old. She is the most snuggly and lovable pup there is! She knows how to walk loose leash and knows all the basics and a few extra (sit, down, stay, come, wait, leave it, off, no, drop it, fetch) and she knows a couple of cute tricks (shake paw and wave hello). We have trained her so that she can pass the CGC Test. (the basic service dog test) She does great with kids once she has gotten to know them, she is a little timid around stranger kids but if you put a treat in front of her face, anyone can pet her! While being with us, has been walked by all the neighborhood children, and does a very good job:) She is ... (Read More)currently timid around dogs at the dog park but will go up to dogs on leash perfectly fine and will play well in anyone's home. We would like her to go to a home with a doggie door, she has been potty trained with one and we prefer her to be a primarily indoor dog, she loves to be around people. She is already over 50 pounds! We think she will be between 60 and 70 pounds full grown. She loves to go on walks but should not be taken on long runs due to being part german shepherd. (Less)

He is 60 lbs (gained 10 lbs since arrival in the East Valley Shelter as a stray on 2/11/18), status post malignant superficial sarcoma removal surgery in March, no metastasis per Shelter biopsy report. His appetite is excellent. He is very good with human, walking on leash, and calm during long car ride. I adopted him on April 25,2018; took him home, ... (Read More)introduced him to my other 3 dogs, and gave him a warm bath. The problem was that when my three dogs (12.5 year-old female medium pitbull, 7 year-old male medium Labrador, and 4 year-old male German Shephard) approached him, he began to growl, and he would get louder so I knew something going to happen. Before he attacked I was able to interfere but there were 3 times quite close to actual fight but my dogs ran faster and they were afraid of him at times. He did not want to be alone so he followed me everywhere. I could protect him and my other dogs them from fighting. No injury occurred but I am afraid that someone going to get hurt because I am not able to watch him 24/7. So next day (April 26), I had to return him to East Valley Shelter before he gets too attach to me. As soon as he realized where he was when I opened the car door, he refused to get out of the car. It really breaks my heart just to recall it. Thrombone is a wonderful and beautiful dog, he has suffered enough. He needs TLC, and I believe that he will turn into someone's little sweet baby as I wish for if I did not have other dogs. He will do well with a family that does not own other dogs. I do not know what his fate will be since East Valley shelter does put dogs down, so I am asking your help. If you can find him a home or a no kill shelter for him, I will make monthly donation to your organization. (Less)

Handsome bull terrier available for adoption! This guy is approx 1-2, he was in the shelter with a completely fractured leg, he underwent surgery (over $5k!) and a few months of rehab and is finally ready for his new home. He displays some cage aggression and I will require the adopter to have bully experience along with references and prefer him to go an only dog home but can discuss with potential adopter. He is neutered, chipped and utd.

. Harlow wants nothing more to please her person and feel loved and safe. Harlow loves the beach, car rides and would do best in a home with no dogs and no small kids until acclimated and a bond of trust is formed. Crate and House trained, walks proudly on leash, lives for hikes and is a champion cuddler. She is healthy, happy and deserves the rest of her life to be the best of her life.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bull Terrier in California
Bull Terrier Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. Bull Terriers are stocky, solid dogs that were once bred to be very fierce but today are much gentler. Bull Terriers are companionable, thrive on attention, and do not like to be left alone for hours or left out of activities. Bull Terriers are spunky and energetic but need to get plenty of brisk exercise or they may become lazy and put on weight. Bull Terriers like children but do not like to be teased. Bull Terriers can be good pets but it is important that they are thoroughly socialized and obedience trained. Bull Terriers sometimes are not good with other household pets and can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs.
