Rescue Me ID: 17-04-29-00325Shelly (female)

Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Shelly was adopted from Castaic Animal Shelter at 10 months old, a little over 1 year ago by loving parents. Since the adoption we have found out some great things about Shelly: she is a cuddle bug, loves to be pet and cuddled with, she sits before her treats, she is now kennel trained, she is house/potty trained, she is great about letting you know when she needs to go to the bathroom, she will stand by the door to indicate that she needs to be let out, she loves to play fetch with her Kong squeaker ball, she loves grass and going on walks, she has been a wonderful addition to our lives. We have also learned little triggers that Shelly ... (Read More)has based on her life before adoption: she does not like walking past other dogs, she is protective of her parents, she has snapped at other dogs at the dog park sometimes just because she is tired, she sometimes gets a little protective of her chew bone, she does not liked to be cornered, so vet trips are not existent unless she is sedated When she is comfortable, Shelly is absolutely the sweetest girl in the world. We have tried really hard to teach her trust and love and patience. She has improved remarkably since adopting her. We are trying to re-home Shelly because we are unaware of her tolerance of the new addition to the family (a baby). She has snapped at my 5 year old nephew before and would not want to chance it with a newborn. She should be the only dog in the household, she needs regular walks because of her active breed and again, she is a cuddle bug and loves to spend time with those she knows (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-26-00463Bella (female)

Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bella is approx. 2-3 years old and a bull terrier / pointer mix. Healthy, spayed, current on vaccines and chipped. She's had basic obedience training and is very attentive. She is sweet and submissive with people. She LOVES water! We put the hose on and she runs, jumps and bites it! It's a party. Bella is best as an only dog. However, Bella loves to play with confident, energetic dogs that are her size. Her issue has been around food/treats/bones but she's showing improvement with that. It would be easier if she's the only dog but it doesn't mean she can't learn to live with another dog and she can have some playdates. She's a ... (Read More)wonderful girl that had a screwed up start, living on the mean streets of SLA, fending for herself. This poor dog was so badly mistreated. When she was found she required emergency surgery to remove the unborn puppies inside her. They did not make it. Bella is still a kid herself. Upon meeting her you will see she's beautiful, loving and eager to please. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization. Adoption process includes an adoption contract and home check. Adoption fee for dogs are $300 - 500 and for cats are $175. All of our animals are fixed, vaccinated, and chipped. Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Princess was born approx July 2016 and is a pocket pitty, small and short but is solid and weighs 40 lbs. She is a very sweet dog with a lot of energy. She needs a home with an active playmate. She gets along with dogs, people, and is super playful. She loves to play fetch and will bring the ball right back to your feet. She loves life and has been through a lot for being so young. She survived rat poisoning, then parvo, and then was in a bad car accident with her prior owners. As a result she had a severe fracture of her hind leg. Her owners gave her up. We rescued her from the shelter and had the needed surgery. Since the ... (Read More)injury was old and starting to heal, we were able to repair most of the fracture. All has healed completely and you hardly notice a limp if at all. Completion of an obedience class will be required, no exceptions. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-14-00020Fagin (male)

Bull Terrier    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Fagin is a fun, energetic puppy who craves attention and will melt in your arms when you give it to him. He absolutely adores people and wants to be near you no matter what you are doing. (aka Mr. Underfoot!) Because he is a strong wiggly puppy, he will be a little much for people who have smaller children. He is still learning not to use his mouth when he plays, and can accidentally nip. He will need a leader who can be consistent and provide clear boundaries. (Bull terriers will take a mile if you give 'em an inch!) Owner must be OK with crating Fagin when they can not keep an eye on him (he is fantastically crate trained) as he enjoys ... (Read More)exploring the world with his mouth and will eat foreign objects whether they are tasty or not. Fagin is super smart and learns very quickly, and is eager to have training time, he loves to put his mind to work! Fagin would do best as an only dog as he hasn't quite figured out how to play nicely with others. (And will probably want his new owner all to himself anyway!) He's got great energy and will do well with a family that likes to get out and exercise. Because he does have a past injury, he will need some daily glucosamine to keep his arthritic joints pain free so he can keep up on adventures. He also suffers from dry eye which is easily managed by daily eye drops. This smart little love bug is ready for his forever home! email for application. (Less)

Max is a very loving beautiful dog. He is blue/ silver and 65 lbs. He is very strong but usually mellow and walks well on leash, but when he sees another dog he will pull aggressively. I just rescued him from a high kill shelter. He was there for a while. He was a stray before that. He has just gotten neutered. He is very friendly with people. He does not get a long with my first dog so I need to find him another home. He also needs some training or time to recover from shelter. He loves being next to you and cuddling. I wish I could keep him! He should be a solo companion.

Bell is about two years old, maybe a little younger. She appears to be a mix of Border collie and Bull Terrier. Bell is quite the ball dog. She would happily fetch for hours if given the opportunity, but also enjoys walking or jogging and would love a dog buddy to play with. Bell has a unique way of moving across the play yard. She seems to bounce and fly with all four feet off the ground. Bell has been trained to sit and wait for the ball to be thrown. She is very toy-motivated and is a fast learner.     Hi, I'm Rocco. And I'm a lucky boy. I was rescued from Sin City because what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. I was found with all 4 paws severely burned and infected. The vet thinks from the sun or hot pavement. All I can tell you is that it hurt. But a dog needs to walk around, right? So walked I did. Into the heart of my foster who brought me all the way to California. Since then, nice people have been treating my paws and they are almost fully healed now and will never bother me again. I'm only 6 months old and I know all my worst pain is behind me now and I can grow into a healthy adult and later senior dog who will be ... (Read More)well loved. I like other dogs but I really don't care to share my food with them. I've lived with cats before, they're a little weird and fascinating. I haven't lived with them for a while so it would probably be best if someone would let me integrate slowly with them. I am totally a lap dog and would love to hang out watching TV with you. But once my paws are perfect again, I'd love to go running with you too. I'm an all around great guy, wouldn't you say? (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bull Terrier in California
Bull Terrier Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. Bull Terriers are stocky, solid dogs that were once bred to be very fierce but today are much gentler. Bull Terriers are companionable, thrive on attention, and do not like to be left alone for hours or left out of activities. Bull Terriers are spunky and energetic but need to get plenty of brisk exercise or they may become lazy and put on weight. Bull Terriers like children but do not like to be teased. Bull Terriers can be good pets but it is important that they are thoroughly socialized and obedience trained. Bull Terriers sometimes are not good with other household pets and can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs.
